- If you had another modem before the 28.8, you may have noticed that v.34
- and v.FC connections take MUCH longer to negotiate than slower modems,
- because of all the line testing and stuff they have to do. If you turn
- off v.34, you'll connect v.32bis to the Multitechs at 14.4K, and the
- connection will be established a lot quicker, but the disadvantage of
- slower transfers is quite obvious.
